To the Hunt!

Oh, but what a marvelously dreary day here in the Green Mountains! I do so enjoy a day moodily draped in fog and drizzle, though the weather has pointed out some of my less-than-ideal roof patches.

After an early morning of re-patching, I’m taking a break to warm myself in front of the fire (with a hot cup of coffee, naturally).

I thought you might enjoy this gorgeous picture from the delightful S. Keen, who belongs to a shooting syndicate in the UK. They shoot pheasant, partridge, and wild ducks. Naturally, Ms. Keen makes sure to wear the appropriate gear – including the Double Finger Claw Ring found in the Attic. It all sounds rather delightful, as S. Keen describes it, especially the gobs of Sloe Gin and Fennel Vodka served during the hunt. (I’m quite a sucker for a good cocktail.)

Thank you, S. Keen, for sharing photos with me. I do enjoy seeing my finds in their new homes.

And, naturally, I toast you during this season. To the hunt!

Springs & Feathers Flying

It has become awfully noisy in the Laboratory this evening, due to the new creatures by Angela St. Andre of The Iron Phoenix.

Decembrus

There is a corner of my garden that is rather overgrown, like a primordial forest. It’s perfect for the ancient forest circuses that once roamed the planet.  A circus like the one Decembrus commanded.

Deep in the forests of the world, there are traveling circuses, full of mythical creatures who perform amazing acts and gorgeous music. Unfortunately, humans have hunted these troupes for nearly as long as these troupes have been in existence, so the circuses have fallen into disrepair, and their members are not as wealthy as they once were. This is Decembrus, the satyr ring master of one of these circuses. While his clothes have seen better days, he has not lost his air of majesty or his love of the spotlight. He’s a master storyteller, Decembrus is, and with just a little bit of coaxing he will gladly spin yarns so thick and magical that they will come to life in front of your eyes.

You can find Decembrus (and other amazing creations by artist Amy L. Rawson) in the Parlor. Do visit, oddlings.

どうもありがとう

I do love robots, don’t you? For so long they were fantastic creations of someone’s imagination, alive only in books and on film.

Or so we thought.

Wouldn’t you like to harbor a CyberCraft Robot? Wouldn’t you like to know that you were aiding and abetting their mission to find Secret Robot Parts on our planet?

But, my dears, you CAN!

It won’t make you any less human. I don’t think.

If you were a secret robot harbor-er, where would you harbor said robot?
